I feel that my target market
would buy my magazine because it addresses everything a reader would want from
an indie music magazine and the style is similar to other indie magazines but
is unique in its own way

Magazine
cover

I have tried to address my
target audience with a pretty basic and modern front cover, I felt like this
was important for it to be simplistic as I didn’t want it to look hectic as I
felt it might look unprofessional. I have been studying other indie music
magazines such as fader music magazine and I found that their magazine front
cover was pretty simplistic with not much writing on the front cover as a
whole. I have taken inspiration from fader’s front covers as they do not have
much writing on them and it’s usually just a simple picture of the artist. Also
because my artist is an indie rapper I thought that fader would be good to look
at even though it s more hip hop and rappers I thought it would be better than
other magazines.

Contents page

For my contents page I've again
tried to keep it quite modern with a dark grey background and a white boarder
on the very outside. I have also put a white boarder on my photos to make them
stand out more, I have found that putting a boarder on the photos was an
efficient way of making the picture stand out more. I have made the titles of
each section in white as well I thought this was a good colour to bring out the
titles. Overall I tired to get the important things to be shown in one colour
and I found that with printing I would have to have a white boarder and then I
did it with the picture and thought that id like there to be basic black white
and grey colour as it made it look quite modern and simplistic. I have take
some inspiration from DIY music magazine for the border idea with my picture
and then the rest I kind of came up with my self from taking inspiration from
different magazines, such as fader NME and others. I have tried to attract my
audience because from my questionnaire they said that they would like a more
simplistic magazine and less busy, so I have tried to create that in an
aesthetically pleasing contents page. Because they wanted it simple I thought
that id keep it on a basic colour scheme of black white and grey.

Double page
spread
•
My double page spread is quite
simplistic style compared to some others around but I thought id keep it the
same style as it means the magazine would go better together. I have used 3
different fonts on this page for my main text I have used the basic ‘Calibri
(body)’ purely because it makes it easier for the reader to read, plus also I
feel that it looks modern and good. Then for the title of the page ‘debut days’
I have used ‘play bill’ which is quite a nice creative it also looks like its
been kind of rushed and it does’nt look like they care what it looks like to a
normal person but a person of the indie genre will enjoy it because it isn't
the ‘average’ font and it stands it from the crowd. Then the final one is ‘fin
D-B’ personal font that he uses for everything so when people see it they will
be reminded of him, but the font is call ‘stylewars’. I have also included his
social media name on all platforms he has, apple music because his music is
available on their and his hash tag for his new tour. I feel like this would
have attracted more readers, as they will now know where to find him on social
media and where his music is.
