This is my first attempt at a cover of my magazine, i am happy with the fonts and barcode placing. However i have realised that it is a long shot and this does therefore not look like a typical magazine cover, I have also found that i am missing an issue number and a price. 

magazine publisher

After some research of magazine publishers I have found a company called IPC media that publishes music magazines. It is also currently the leading costumer magazine and digital publisher, it is the owner of NME magazine, as one of the leading indie magazines I thought that this would be helpful as I am hoping to produce an indie magazine. It is also a publisher for more than 60 iconic brands, so therefor it shows that it would be a good publisher to get in with. From these 60 brands they engage with 24 million adults so it would mean that it would be in trusty hands.

language used for magazine

 The genre of music I have chosen is indie, so therefore it is quite casual, therefore the language I will be using will be fairly informal. The reason it is quite informal is because the age range is going to be aimed at 16 to 21 year olds, also it is quite a typical ting for indie artists to be quite informal. And example of this is mainly on social media but they also speak more informal than formal. As the genre is heavily based on informal language readers would expect the magazine to include informal language instead of formal language. I have found out this information from watching interviews and reading articles, I however found that watching interviews were better because articles could change the way it sounds sometimes.

3 indie mastheads

These three mastheads are from 3 respected indie magazines. All three of them look very similar, as they are all written in capitals and all in white writing. The top two ‘CLASH’ and ‘DIY’ are both bold and stocky with very close letters, whereas ‘INDIE’ is still kind of bold but it is more spread out.

25 word pitch

I’ve decided that my magazine will be indie genre. It will keep up/ set the latest trends aimed for both gender’s between sixteen and twenty-one.
